' Mrs. Poppenberg, a Sewickley resident, was one of .the privileged few pr^enied to Prince Charlies at a Dii-qiiesne Club luncheon. . Refatdd stories appear on pages 4 and 5. Another person at the luncheon was. Earl Gadbery of Osborne. “I wasn’t ner-, vous atall,” he said. “It was just a matter of meeting another individual.” Gadbeiy, an Osborne councilnlai) and president of the Alcoa Foundation, was a guest of John C, Marous, host for the. luncheon. Marous is chairman, of . Westinghouse Electric Corp. ' . “I told him that Alcoia has two recycle ing plants in Wales aiid that they, are beginning, to earn ,somd money,” Gadbery recalled. “He seemed pleased to hear about our faciliti^ there:” Gadbery, whise surname is English extraction, had ancestors on the paternal side who immigrate to America from ^ the south of England. Mrs. Popi^nberg explained that she Wasn’t actually a guest at the lUiicheon but a'member of “the media team.” Mrs. Pop^nberg is the Rector of the Greater Pittsburgh Office of Promotion. Fittingly, her remarks to this prince went like this: “I welcofhfed him to Pittsburgh and said I hoped- he’d have a good look at the city when the weather cleared.” . ' ' The prince airived in town in the midst of a blizzard. However, blues, skies appeared on Saturday, and Mrs. Poppenbefg’s wish for him came true. Other local residents at the luncheon were Frank V. Cahouet of Edgeworth, chairman and; CEO of Mellon Bank; Wesley von Schack, president of Du-quense Light; and Anri Wardrop, formerly of Sewickley Heights, who was a cdordinator of the Remaking Cities Conference, of which the prince was' the honorary chairman. - .
