You can feel it, every time the Axis is struck. This is the climax year, the year of decision. In history, 1944 will be the big year of the war—every stroke for, victory counts more now. That’s why it’s vitally important for every American to be at his post, doing his part right now. You, personally, have an important job in winning the war —buying War Bonds. It’s not glamorous—no, not even a sacrifice, really, because you are only lending your money, to be re- turned with interest. But it is essential to complete victory. Your part in this year of decision is .,c least one extra $100 Bond, above your reg-ular Bond buying. That is your minimum individual quota. But don’tstop there. Remember wars are won only by all-out effort. So buy $200, $300, $500 worth—buy more than you can afford. And buy your Bonds where you work —at the plant or at the office. Your country is counting on you—let’s make the year of decision OUR year! RALLY MEETING This area, District 25, Zone II (those listed and Sewickley) will he under the direction of Samuel C. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR NURSE S AIDE CLASS Ten women have signed up for the new daytime Nurse’s Aide class that will begin training at the Sewickley Valley Hospital as soon as enrollment lias been complete. Ten more volunteers are needed at once to fill the class so that it can start work. The Red Cross Nurse’s Aide class now being recruited will be the seventh to train at our Hospital, but the need for it is just as urgent as if it were the first. So much has been written and spoken about tile need for moro nurse’s aides, it seems impossible that there could be anyone who does not know how desperately they are wanted and how great is the value of their service on the war front as well as on the home front, Women have been told repeatedly that this is the most important volunteer work that they can do! that as nurse’s aides they malee themselves indispensable, and they have the testi- mony of thousands who have given this service as to how interesting, rewarding and satisfying the work can be. There, must be many women in this community who can meet the age and health requirements and who have the time or could find the time to be nurse’s aides. Are there among them ten who will come forward now and enroll in the new class so that it can begin its work. The hours of the class that is to start training will be from 1 ¡00 to 3:00 p. m., Monday through Friday, every week until 80 hours of study and training have been completed, after which a minimum of 150 hours of service to the hospital are required. The applicant must be in good health and between the ages of 18 and 50, although the 50 year limit is sometimes disregarded if other requirements can be met. For further information or to make an appointment for an interview with Mrs. Robert Standish, chairman of Nurse’s Aides, at the Red Cross House, call Sewickley 225. w
