F. Matson who have been in the hotel business In Detroit, Mloh., the past three yeara, have rented the new Commercial Hotel here and will take charge during the first part of October.The young people gave a dance in Pearsall's hall on Wednesday evening of last week. On account of the inclemency of the weather the expected crowd did not materialize. Only seven couples were present but what they lacked in numbers they made up for in enjoyment. The dancing was kept up until nearly midnight. Misses Laura Smith and Mary Spare furnished the music. Miss Anna Murphy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Murphy, is lying ill at her home with smallpox. Miss Murphy took 111 on the 14th, and became so 111 that her mother who was visiting In Pittsburg was telegraphed for. She arrived home on Tuesday evening and was herself taken sick. On Thursday the doctors pronounced Miss Murphy's illness to be smallpox. It caused intense excitement on account of the fact that many persons had visited the sick room. F. Matson who have been in the hotel business In Detroit, Mloh., the past three yeara, have rented the new Commercial Hotel here and will take charge during the first part of October.The young people gave a dance in Pearsall's hall on Wednesday evening of last week. On account of the inclemency of the weather the expected crowd did not materialize. Only seven couples were present but what they lacked in numbers they made up for in enjoyment. The dancing was kept up until nearly midnight. Misses Laura Smith and Mary Spare furnished the music. Miss Anna Murphy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Murphy, is lying ill at her home with smallpox. Miss Murphy took 111 on the 14th, and became so 111 that her mother who was visiting In Pittsburg was telegraphed for. She arrived home on Tuesday evening and was herself taken sick. On Thursday the doctors pronounced Miss Murphy's illness to be smallpox. It caused intense excitement on account of the fact that many persons had visited the sick room.
