Oar community was shocked last Saturday upon hearing of the death from typhoid fever of Leslie McAninch, son of George A. McAninch, formerly a prominent bnsin— man of Brookville, but for several years past engaged in buainess in Apollo, Armstrong county. Leslie McAninch wss ft bright young bum of much promise. He was ftbout twentythree years of age. He enlisted In Company A, 18th Pennsylvania and only about nine weeks ago married an estimahle young lady. His remains, under an escort of a guard of honor from his Regiment, were brought to this, his former home, and taken to the M. £. churoh where all that remained of the young soldier, eladinthe uniform of his regiment was exposed to view. The large church was filled to overflowing, many not being able to gain admission. The funoral sermon by Dr. S. M. Gordon was a touching tribnte to the gallant young soldier who was called away in the Arst flush of manhood. George A.
