Last Friday a 15-year-old son of Johu Nitsgar, of Madison township, Armstrong county, lost his life in a singular manner while out hunting. He left home early in the morning to hunt rabbits, and as the day passed and he did not return his parents became alarmed and a searching party was instituted. Shortly before dark they came across his tracks in the snow, and a few moments after found his lifeless body under a pile of stones, frozen stiff. He had evidently been dead several hours when found. It is supposed the young man had chased a rabbit in the stone fence and started to dig it out, and when the excavation became large enough to admit his body crawled in, and in working with the stones they suddenly became loosened and fell on him. Here he was held until he was evidently frozen to death, as an examination showed no injuries which would cause death. A brother fell off a chestnut tree a few months ago and wss killed, and this tragic death makes a hard blow for the parents, who have the sympathy of the entire community.—Kittanning Tribune. P. P. An unknown but talented and truthful poet, gives this graphic description of hogkilling time: "There is blood on the barn-lot and hair on the ground, While the dog on bis haunches sits drawling around. There's a lung on the fenee and a crow In the air To steal the rich morsels when no one Is there. The boys are on hand and never yet (all To fight for the bladder and scrap for the tall. And the smell of fried pudding pervadetb the While tbe d'let for days Is sausage and souse- No one In this world knows fully the Joy Of hog-kllllng time like the hale farmer boy. Spare ribs and head eheese make his countenance shine. And bis soul fairly revels In sweet tenderloin; Wblle the liver ana brains, the ends and the odds, Are dishes be thinks, that are lit for tbe gods." It MOD9RN DRUG STORE. P. P.
