He settled in Beech woods in October, whither lie had come from Schuylkill county. He was twenty-one years old when he came from the old country and had nut le his home in our town for nine years. Deceased was married to Miss Kii/.abeth Zimmerman, who still survives, and is seventy-six years old. With the aged wife and mother are left ten children to mourn his loss, Mrs. James Compfde, Mr-. The school children and patriotic orders marched with the veterans and a camp-lire was held in the evening, t 'orporal James Tanner, who lost his feet while lighting with the 105th at Bull Run, v/.ts made an honorary member of the association. Resolutions in memory of Col. Joseph H. Gray, of Putsburg, a former member of the regiment, were passed. There will be a meeting of tho Public •School Alumni Association of this place in the High School building on Jefferson street, tomorrow (Thursday) evening, October 21, *7:30 o'clock.
