A sleighing party, composed of our young people, attended the local institute at Cool Spring on Saturday. Orin Morris and Charley Fink, accompanied by their "bests" attended church at Anita last Sunday night. It was so cold that night that the swell-beds on their sleighs froze and became so swollen that the young people had considerable difficulty a I the way home with the seating apparatus of their vehicles* John McMillen hitehed up in his big "barge ' and on last Friday evening drove over to Punxsutawney. There lie secured a portion of the female domestic help of the Pantall, Waverly and I'ity hotels and brought them out to this place where they mingled with a number of our young peo pie who accompanied them to the home of William Shoops where a party was in progress. Refreshments were served and all had an enjoyable time. County Superintendent U. H. Tetrick, visited our schools on Friday. Unstopped overnight with Director J. W. Morrison. That night one of Mr. Morrison's horse* became untied and walked into the shed where the superintendent's nice new sleigh was standing and chewed the bark oil'of it. The report that John McMillan was married last week is entirely groundless, as there can be no documentary evidence produced to show the correctness of the assertion. I have had to deny a report of this same nature so often that I really wish J<din would wed. A number of our young men attended Al (.*. Field's "Darkest America" at Punx.sutawney on Monday night.
