An alligator, said by exports to bo sovonty-flvo years old, is on exhibition at Thunderbolt, and, according to tho Savannah News, enlists universal interest on account of tho prominonco of its oaptors, who wont duck-hunting, and camo very noar Reing earriod off by tho venerable saurian. Tho alligator was capturod in''Alligator Pond," near Warsaw, under tho following circumstances: Dr. J. Eddy, of Fall River, Mass.; Frank Eddy, of Boston, and Usher Parsons, of Now York, and son of Mr. Goorgo Parsons, who aro with tho Parsons party as Mr. Parsons' guests at Warsaw, wero duckhunting, and ono of tho party shot a duck and was approaching tho dead fowl, when tho alligator suddenly crawled out and disputed tho right of possossion. Dr. Eddy, aftor a hasty glanco at tho hugo fellow, concluded tho alligator, by tho right of eminont domain, ought to liavo tho duck, and, it is said, began to increaso tho distance betwoon himself and tho wicked-looking saurian. Tho Bostonian and young Parsons at first thought wero of tho sarno opinion, and for awhile it looked as if tho alligator would have it all his own way, but boforo it reached tho water witli the duck, courage returned to tho party, and ono of them put a riilo ball in the saurian's mouth, whicli stunned it, and beforo it recovered consciousness it was made a helploss prisoner, taken on board the yacht and brought ill triumph to Thunderbolt, where it appears to bo none thw worse for tho shot, oxcrpt that it is in captivity. Tho trio of spoi l smen aro very proud of their morning's hunt, and on thoir return North will take their prizo with them. Gfive Us a Call and You Will Save Money. if 4* VMC*. B.
