A meeting of the Board of Trustees of the James V. Brown Library was held on Tuesday, January 4th, 1916 at 4 P. M. Present: Messrs. David A. Howe, in the chair, C. LaRue Munson, J. Clinton Hill, S. Van Brown, the Honorable Jonas Fischer and the Secretary. The Secretary stated that the Honorable Jonas Fischer had been inaugurated Mayor of the City of Williamsport succeeding the Honorable Samuel Stabler, and that by virtue of his office of Mayor, Mr. Fischer became a member of the Board. Mr. Fischer was welcomed by the Board members. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The Treasurer submitted his semi-annual report which was read and ordered placed on file. The Librarian submitted a printed semi-annual report which was read and ordered placed on file. The situation at the Newberry Station was discussed and the Librarian was instructed to be as liberal in the matter of books as practical. The Librarian reported that the janitor, Joseph Benson, had had an accident in the Library and broken two ribs, that, as the Librarian was not satisfied with the treatment accorded to the janitor by the janitor's doctor, he, with the concurrence
