A meeting of the Board of Trustees of the James V. Brown Library was held on January 5th, at 4 P. M. Present were Messrs David A. Howe, in the chair, Charles Lose, Henry D. Brown, J. Clinton Hill, C. LaRue Munson, Rev. W. Northey Jones, and the Secretary. The minutes of the November meeting were read and approved. The semi-annual reports of the Librarian and Treasurer were read and on motions duly made and seconded ordered placed on file. Mr. Hill reported that he expected to argue the case stated agreed on between the Executors of the Brown Estate and the Board of Trustees, in regard to the $2,300 - in dispute, in a few days. The Librarian reported that with the approval of the President, he had arranged to transfer the telephone from the Trustees room to the Cataloging room; that some of the wires in the basement had grounded, and were being repaired; that Mr. Brown had gotten a further reduction in the rate allowed by the Edison Electric Illuminating Company, making it about 3 8/10 cents; that sets of the authors, on whom lectures will be delivered, had been provided for the Reference Room; that some technical books
