Tax Collector William S Irwin. ST.. asked for exemption totaling (154.80 on the 1933 duplicate in addition to the amount of 82910 73 asked for at a meeting of council on March 21, 1934. The request was not granted and no other action was taken on the duplicate. There was a discussion as to the uuniU-i of persons assessed and chained against the duplicates whose names should not be listed. A motion was passed asking that the assessors of the various wards and the tax collector meet with town council this evening and go over the 1935 duplicate and strike oft all names that should not be listed and correct any other errors that might exist. The duplicate has been ready for the tax collec tor for several weeks. Since then several changes have been ordered made by the Montgomery County Board for Assessment and Revision of Taxes. Borough Solicitor E Arnold For last was requested to submit i written opinion as to the status of Federal employees paying borough taxes. Burgess Hampton reported ti council he has received many com plaints about dogs roaming the ttreeLs at large and doing consider able property damage and made a request that he be authorised tx employ a dog catcher and the nec-essary equipment to carry out the duties, the -conprnsatian for the dog catcher to be paid from fines collected. The request was granted with the understanding the com-pensation is to be paid from fines collected from the owners of the dogs and from no other source.. Councilman Burke raised the question as to why the ordinance governing the blocking of side-walks Is not enforced. The Bur-gess was instructed to enforce the ordinance and have the merchants remove all merchandise from front of their respective places of business There was a discussion about the John Wood Manufacturing Com-pany erecting a frame building. 22 ft. S In. long by 12 ft. 8 In. wide and 15 ft. 6 In. high, to be used as a grinder shop, on their mill prop-erty on the Berme bank. It was claimed the bulldtrjg was erected In violation of the building code which prohibits the erection within borough limits of any frame build-ing more than 100 square feet and seven feet high. 1933 duplicate seemed no nearer
than before the meeting started.
Tax Collector William S Irwin.
ST.. asked for exemption totaling
(154.80 on the 1933 duplicate in
addition to the amount of 82910 73
asked for at a meeting of council
on March 21, 1934. The request
was not granted and no other
action was taken on the duplicate.
There was a discussion as to the
uuniU-i of persons assessed and
chained against the duplicates
whose names should not be listed.
A motion was passed asking that
the assessors of the various wards
and the tax collector meet with
town council this evening and go
over the 1935 duplicate and strike
oft all names that should not be
listed and correct any other errors
that might exist. The duplicate
has been ready for the tax collec
tor for several weeks. Since then
several changes have been ordered
made by the Montgomery County
Board for Assessment and Revision
of Taxes.

Councilman Burke raised the
question as to why the ordinance
governing the blocking of side-walks
Is not enforced. The Bur-gess
was instructed to enforce the
ordinance and have the merchants
remove all merchandise from
front of their respective places of
business

John Wood Manufacturing Com-pany
