The costs were placed on the county John Beheld, manager of a tire store on DeKalb street. Korristown. claimed Ambrose went U> the store on the evening of March '4 and asked to look at two tires. He went upstairs and brought the tires down Thei. the man asked to look at inner tubes and Scheld again went upstairs and brought the tubes down. Ambrose asked to see another tube and when Scheld re-turned he found the man gone, also the two tubes and tires. Scheld said he started an Investi-gation after notifying police and the next night saw the tires on an automobile parked on DeKalb street, Brldceport. Norristown police were notified and Ambrose, the owner of the car, was arrested. Scheld iden-tified him as the "customer." Detective Bernard Mulholiand told of investigating the case and Chief of Police George Bausowine testi-fied Arbrote had admitted walking out with the tires. Ambrose said he had gone to the store and had been given the tire* by Scheid after he had agreed to make a down payment of $3 the nest night or the following morn-ing. He denied stealing the tires, saying he walked out of the store while Scheld waa there. His testimony waa corroborated by Lincoln Baylor. King Manor, who said he drove Ambrose to the store and was ln the parked car while Ambrose made the purchase.
