PRICE: THSET CENTS Propose New Traffic Lights At Harmonville Whiti'imirsh Hoard ri.m- I diminution Of Overhead Light The first step toward elimination of an overhanging traffic light and the erre!ion o( standard equipment at Ridge and Butter pikes was tak-en last night by the board of sup-ervisors o( Whitemarsh township at a monthly session at the township building in Barren HIM The supervisors adopted a resolu-tion authorizinii the installation of legal trafflc lights at the intersec-tion. Inasmuch as coat ot maintain-ing the signals is shared by Ply-mouth and Whitemarsh townships, the board 01 commissioners of the termer township also will be re-quired to pass a similar resolution. The joint text will be forwarded to the State Highway department Accidents occur frequently at the intersection and in many Instances drivers have blamed the position ol the overhanging light The resolu-tion also provides thai all traffic lights in the township henceforth are to be erected "according to the law Temporary One-Way Traffic The supervisors adopted a second resolution in which provision is made for one-way trafflc In Spring Mill until the completion next fall of the construction of North lane between Spring Mill and Ridge pike The board designated End street as a one-way thorougr''are. Trafflc is to be northbound between End street and Spring Mill avenue and Hector street and Tenth avenue, effective upon approval of the State Highway department. of an overhanging traffic light and
the erre!ion o( standard equipment
at Ridge and Butter pikes was tak-en
last night by the board of sup-ervisors
o( Whitemarsh township at
a monthly session at the township
building in Barren HIM
The supervisors adopted a resolu-tion
authorizinii the installation of
legal trafflc lights at the intersec-tion.
Inasmuch as coat ot maintain-ing
the signals is shared by Ply-mouth
and Whitemarsh townships,
the board 01 commissioners of the
termer township also will be re-quired
to pass a similar resolution.
The joint text will be forwarded to
the State Highway department
Accidents occur frequently at the
intersection and in many Instances
drivers have blamed the position ol
the overhanging light The resolu-tion
also provides thai all traffic
lights in the township henceforth
are to be erected "according to the
law
Temporary One-Way Traffic
The supervisors adopted a second
resolution in which provision is
made for one-way trafflc In Spring
Mill until the completion next fall
of the construction of North lane
between Spring Mill and Ridge pike
The board designated End street
as a one-way thorougr''are. Trafflc
is to be northbound between End
street and Spring Mill avenue and
Hector street and Tenth avenue,
effective upon approval of the State
Highway department.
