CAUGHT A WHALE

Here is a whale of a fish story.

for by unimpeachable evidence. The
hero is devout churchman, faithful

the straight and narrow path even
when telling a llsh story. Every one
In town knows the hero as he Is no
other than Waller II. Morris, who
formerly resided in this borough and
Wesl Consholiocken .and for years
served hundreds of patrons of the
Recorder regularly with their paper
rarely missing any subscriber no
matter what Ihe weather conditions
might be. Walter now resides in Phlla
delphla and is employed at the works
Ql Hie Lire Tire and Rubber Com-pany,
of this borough.
Here Is Walter's story: "I was In
Atlantic City yesterday and went in
bathing near the inlet, near the air
ship station, where, the breakers are
strong. As 1 was watling about, I saw
an object being tossed aboui wnich
I at first tok to be a stone. 1 went
to the object and saw il was a fish.
1 went after it and after many at-tempts,
I succeeded it catching It
with my hands. It was a fish about
two feet long and varying in with
across its back from three to four
inches. I brought it ashore and soon
a large crowd surrounded me and the
fish. Fishermen and life guards said
the fish was a baby whale and the
guards were anxious to get possess-ion
of it. They offeree: to purchased
it from me but 1 refused to sell. I
brought the whale home today I have
it at the mill where the* employes
have viewed it.'"
Walter, unlike most fishermen,
brought his evidence with him and
the whale is on exhibition today at
the tire plant.
