^ ^ &• M t The modern home-maker no longer struggles with the "old oaken bucket" or heats water on the old cooking stove. She lets a Crane Automatic Water System relieve y^ Her oj this drudgery, and saves her time and energy for finer and more interesting things. The "old oaken bucket" is a relic of by-gone days The "old oaken bucket" furnished the theme for a popular song half a century ago. But while we sing its romantic past, let us keep in mind also sympathy for our grandmothers— stooped and weary long before their time from lugging water from that same heavy "iron-bound, moss covered bucket that hung in the well." Fortunately for the newer generations thousands of farm dwellers have learned that running hot and cold water, piped from cistern or well and ready at the turn of a faucet, will reduce the burdens and double the happiness of the mothers of today—the grandmothers of tomorrow. 1
