The story Is an amusing and touching narrative of an orphan boy and his younger sister who manage to construct a radio and establish a receiving station In the attic of an orphan home. MotasMa Chocolate Cake
1 cup sugar ¦» cup shortening
2 eggs, well beaten 'i cup Brer Rabbit molasses 1 teaspoon soda 1 cup boiling water IS cups flour
3 tablespoons cocoa 'a teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla
Cream sugar and shortening. Add the tieaten eggs, molasses and the soda which has been dissolved in boiling water. Then add the dry ingredients which have been i^ifted together, and lastly, the vanilla. Bake in well-grea.sed cake pan in a moderate oven 1350"P.i about 40 minutes. Top with frosting or whip¬ ped cream. This cake will remain moist for a week.

Oeorge Sundberg, a representative of the Second Na* tlonal Bank of Naaareth, asked for permission to change the huge clock afBxed to the front of their bank building to a pole adjacent to a service pole in front of the building. Council decided to consider this change.
A loan of 12,000 for a period of thirty days from tbe Second Na¬ tional Bank was approved and the treasurer's bond of glO.OOO was ac¬ cepted. Bills for the past month amounted to I2.272J3.
A report of activities of the local police department during January showed that 24 complaints were re¬ ceived and the like number answered. Assistance to motor police, bank escorts, county detectives, etc.. was rendered on 17 occasions and also to six funeral escoru. One flre was discovered by the department and 31 trafflc and parking warnhigs Is¬ sued with two arrests.
An annual report of flre chief Michael Masters, of the year 1930. showed that the Vigilance Hose Company answered 15 calls, nine of which were out of town and six In town. Of the local calls, one was a false alarm and another a State test drill.
