It was Nasareth Hall Day at the World's Pair. Letters were read (rom old Hall Boys now located in many distant places, many of which were written by graduates of the class of 1886. The "Boy" coming the greatest distance was W. C Colmery ('14) from Somerset. Penna. Following the banquet the mem¬ bers enjoyed a floor show. All members of the Board were present and W. M. Bennett, Jr., President of the Board, presided. The Treasurer of the Board, C. P. Schnerr, rendered a report showing a baLmce of 830.879.14 on May 1st, 1939. The receipts during the month of May were $3,717.73 and the ex¬ penditures $12,398.81, leaving a bal¬ ance on June 1st of 822.198.06. Tlie second annual Nazareth Hall Military Academy Alumni Associa¬ tion reunion was held at Hotel Ab¬ bey, New York City, last Frlda\ evening with fifty-five in attendance Memliers were accompanied by wives. daughters and friends and mcluded members of classes from 1888 to 1939. It was Nasareth Hall Day at the World's Pair. Letters were read (rom old Hall Boys now located in many distant places, many of which were written by graduates of the class of 1886. The "Boy" coming the greatest distance was W. C Colmery ('14) from Somerset. Penna.
Following the banquet the mem¬ bers enjoyed a floor show. Sylvester Eberts. was among those who at¬ tended from Nazareth and this community. OfBcers were elected for the ensuing year and It was an¬ nounced that "On To Nazareth" would be the slogan for 1940.

The regular monthly meeting of ttie Nazareth School Board was held In the Nazareth High School Build¬ ing on Monday evening of this weeic. All members of the Board were present and W. M. Bennett, Jr., President of the Board, presided.
The Treasurer of the Board, C. P. Schnerr, rendered a report showing a baLmce of 830.879.14 on May 1st, 1939. The receipts during the month of May were $3,717.73 and the ex¬ penditures $12,398.81, leaving a bal¬ ance on June 1st of 822.198.06. The Sinking Fund balance as of June Ut c vnsLsted of a cash balance of ' 913 221 00 and Naaareth School 01a- tr:ct bonds of the |S22 issue of 143.- 000.00 par amount neld In the Treas. urv. or a total of 156,221.67.
The Tax Collector. R. C. Orlfllth, rendered a report showing eollec- tlon.s of school taxes during the month of May amounting to 9649.97. He also reported having returned to the County Commissioners for collection. I3.034.9S 1939 school taxes on prpoerty which were unpaid as of M,iy 1st. 1939.
Bill£ amounting to 91,484.28 were approved for payment and the Treasurer authorised to pay them.
Bids were received for furniture to be Installed In tbe North Broad Street Building which is now being renovated for further use, and for Itimber and other suppUes for the Industrial Arts Department. Ten bid": were received for furniture and alx for lumber and other Industrial Arts Department supplies. The bids were referred to Superintendent Marcks for tabulation and comparl- aon and he was directed to report to the Board with hU recommen¬ dations at an adjourned meetmg of the Board on June 37th.
The Buildings Committee reported that in the proceu of renovatmg the North Broad Street Bulldmg It was discovered that the roof on tbe building is In need of more extensive rep.iirs than had been anticipated and that the rlaers and treads In the atairway from the flrst to the second floor were ta poor condition and ahould be. replaced; also that a canopy should be provkled al>ove the entrance dMT on the east side of the buikling. On recommendation of the committee, the Board author¬ ized the committee to make the im¬ provements at an estimated cost of $140.00 for sheathing for the roof. $75.00 for new risers and treads for the stairway, and $12.30 for mater¬ iala for the canopy over the en¬ trance door.
The present janitors were re¬ named to their present positions on a. monthly basis: namely, Oeo. Rudge, Chas. P. Happel and Harvey Rohn at the High School Building: Joseph Wagner at the Whitefleld BuUdmg and E. D. Rohn at the Fairview Building.
Mrs. J. Prederic Knecht was re¬ elected school nurse and Miss Emma Yukna was re-elected clerk to Supt. Marcks.
A resignation was received from Misa Mary A Dry to become effective at tbe dose of the present school term and the Board accepted it.
The Board directed the Secretary- C. J. Knauas. to place an order with H. L. Heymann Co.. Easton. Pa.. for thirteen double combination typmrrltlng deaks at the quoted price of 941.30 each, and Superintendent Marcks was authorized and directed to purchase two Sundstrand adding maclUnea for use in the school sys¬ tem.

WOMEN'S DEMO¬ CRATIC CLUB PLANS ENTERTAINMENT
Members of the Women's Demo¬ cratic Club, during their June meet- ing held Tuesday evening in the Jacksonian Club rooms, planned for their entertainment of the Nortn- ampton County Council of Demo¬ cratic Women which will be held on Priday, July Uth, at the Nazareth Municipal Park. Judge WilUam Barthold will be the speaker at this affair.
Also the club decided to elioUnate a meeting In July and that a num¬ ber of candidates will attend the flrst Fall meeting the second Tues¬ day In August. President Ellen Schoch gave an interesting report on the Harrisburg convention which she attended this May. Also the resignation of Mrs. Orace BarraU as treasurer was accepted and Mrs James Petherolf elected to the va¬ cancy.
A covered dish social started the evening's festivities with 23 members m attendance.

Following the graduation address delivered by Dr. Harmon W. Cald¬ well, President of the University of Oeorgla, announcement of awards and diplomas was made to the Corps of more than six hundred cadets.
Among those honored or grad¬ uated In this flnal exercise of the sehool year was Cadet Charles 8. Bennett of Nazareth. Penna., who received the Post Oraduate Certl- flcate. Cadet Bennett was listed on the Academic Honor Roll thirteen times during the year and was awarded six Merit Ribbons.
