SCHOOL BOARD TO CREMATE RETIRED BONDS Schoolg T 0 Observe •Thanksgiving Nov. 23rd The regular monthly meeting of the Nazareth School Board was held in the Nasareth High School build¬ ing on Monday evening of this week. All members of the Board were present and Wm. M. Bennett Jr., Preaident o( the Board, presided. The Treasurer et the Board ren> dered a report showing a balance of 961.433.12 on October 1st, 1939. The receipts during the month of October were 910,034.3S and the ex¬ penditures 91gJU.1T, leaving a bal¬ ance ot 953,103.30 on November lat. The Sinking Pund balance waa $S0,> 400.00 on November lat. The Tax CoUector'a report showed collections of aehool taxes during the month of October amounting to tT,08g.0g. Bills amounting to 93,048.97 wer approved for payment and the Treasurer authorlaed to pay them. A request having been received from the Naaareth Womans Club for the use of tbe Migh Sehool Audi¬ torium for rehearsals for the Christ- maa play to be given at the meeting of the Club at IU meeting on De- cember llth and at tbe meeting of the Parent-Teaobers Aaaoclatton on •December 14tb, the Board granted the Club permlMlon to use the audi¬ torium for three rehearsals. The Building Committee reported several Items of neeeasary repairs at the various buUdUigs, whereupon the Board dlreeted the committee to have the repairs made. The Building Committee was also di¬ rected to procure and Install a relief valve on the hot water atorage tank in the High School Building aa recommended by The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Inaur- anoe Company. Mr. Houck's ability as a taxidermist has attracted the atten¬ tion of Frank Buck, the African big game hunter. Mr. Houck has many skins from snakes and monkeys nir- nished by Frank Buck for mount¬ ing. He presented a skin at the meeting measuring twenty-seven feet from tip to tip.
