Through Mr. Hox- ' ie's efforts hundreds of young men I have been given the foundation nf : a musical education that has led I to them taking up better recog¬ nized band and orchestral in.'^tru- I ments with eminent success. Mr. { Hoxie in a brief talk to the audi- ' ence explained that music fltis a : big void in a youth's life and been ' of immense value in keeping bny^ I occupied and out of mischief. The . band, numbering forty members under the direction of Mr. Hoxie has traveled over a great portion of the country and is in great demand everywhere. They have given a new musical standing I tn the harmonica which has re¬ sulted in boys bands being formed I in hundreds of cities and towns. Following the appearance of a I gronp of the boys with Mr. Hoxie . before the Xazareth Rotary Club I several months ago the local Ro- , tary club engaged a teacher from i the club ar/' a boys band is now being formed in Nazareth. The prospect for a most siiccpss- ful year looms ahead of the local Chamber of Commerce. The di¬ rectors discussed at some length a program for the organization and found num»roU8 local conditions that will receive immediate atten¬ tion with a view fo paving the way for the future welfare of the com¬ munity. The directors were con¬ sidering the entire community ad¬ jacent to Nazareth and hnpo that this territory may rapidly be de¬ veloped and provide space for re¬ sidential and industrial expansion. The Chamber is also anxious hat the local slogan maki*rs take their pens in hand and create a slogan for Nazareth. A prize of five dollars is offered for the per¬ son presenting the slogan that will be accepted.
