He never as¬ pired to public elective office but al¬ ways worked for the interests of the party, serving as committeeman in his home district and going through the county campaigning in the in¬ terests of the party ticket. At many recent gatherings of the party he was honored by introductions as one of the oldest active Republicans of the county, along with Henry Ridge- way, of Easton. Mr. Hazen was a staunch Repub¬ lican and had the reputation of nev¬ er having missed a vote at an elec¬ tion unless he was ill. He never as¬ pired to public elective office but al¬ ways worked for the interests of the party, serving as committeeman in his home district and going through the county campaigning in the in¬ terests of the party ticket. At many recent gatherings of the party he was honored by introductions as one of the oldest active Republicans of the county, along with Henry Ridge- way, of Easton.
