Y., an alumnus of Naza¬ retli Hall, class of IflOS, and later captain and .\ll--\merlcan player at Princeton, who was to be the Jion- ored guests of the evening, was un¬ able to be present- Diirlng the past season the Naza¬ reth Hall eleven participated iu six games, winning two, losing two and tying two. The prospects for the 1!»2;! campaign are bright, as the team will lose only four by gradua¬ tion. It was ten o'clock wheti the pleas¬ ant and successful affair was brought tn a close with all present rising and piving the famous Hall cheer. WATER ANALYSIS SHOWS UP WELL Slightly Injured J. Thomas Dougherty, proprietor of the Centennial Hotel, Stockertown, was fatally Injured at twenty minutes before twelve Friday morning, and Edward Fehr, proprietor of the American Hotel, Nazareth, was slightly hurt, when the automobile of Fehr crashed into an engine of a freight train on the n, L. & W. Rail¬ road at Belfast Junction. Dougherty was riding in Fphr's tar. which FehV was driving. They were descending the hill from the ,.\sbland Hotel, and Fehr apparently saw the train approachirig, but, on account of the ice and snow on tl..' grade, was unable to st«p his ma¬ chine, and it crashed into the ensiii' . The short space of time In which the verdict was reached and rendered probably sets a new North¬ ampton county lecord for acquittals itl homicide cases. When James .M. Henthorn, of Eas¬ ton. foreman of the jury, announced the words, "not guilty." Nickles arose I rom his chair ahd stepped forward to .vii.'r.i the jury stood. Judge Stewart, in receiving the verdict, expressed the thanks of the court for the services of the jury and told them their verdict was certain to meet with general satisfaction. When the case began on Wednes¬ day last the court room was crowded with spectators but the verdict was r< ndered in the presence of only half a dozen people, only one of whom was awafting the verdict with Mr. and Mrs. Nickles. The three left the court room together soon after on their homeward journey. CO.
