SLATE BELT TRANSIT TO INCREASE FARES TO TEN CENTS PER ZONE New Order is Effective on February f— Thia Plan Decided on Instead of Keeping Seven Cent Fare and Increasing Number of Zonea Announcement haa been made that, effective February 7, the lone fare on the Slate Relt Transit Company, operat¬ ing a trolley line from Llangor, through Pen Argyl, Wind (lap, lielfast to Naz¬ areth, will bc advanced frqm seven to ten cents. This step has been found BflccBBary, according to the company, in order to pay expenses and to purchase new cars to replace those destroyed in a ili.sastrous tire at the car barn at Pen Argyl during the heavy blizzard last winter, .M first it was proposed to keep the zone fare at seven cents and divide the line into seven fare zones instead nf five, as »t presciil. However, this would have iieee-^sitated a dividing point between I'.aiigiir and Pen Argyl, and also between N'azareth and Belfast. However, as the lieavie.st traffic by working people is over these two Muies, the plan of .short¬ ening' the fare zones Would have wiirkea a liarilsliip on tliem. and, iu order to more evenly divide the burden, the in¬ creased faro waa decided upon. SLATE BELT TRANSIT
TO INCREASE FARES TO
TEN CENTS PER ZONE
New Order is Effective on February f— Thia Plan Decided on Instead of Keeping Seven Cent Fare and Increasing Number of Zonea
Announcement haa been made that, effective February 7, the lone fare on the Slate Relt Transit Company, operat¬ ing a trolley line from Llangor, through Pen Argyl, Wind (lap, lielfast to Naz¬ areth, will bc advanced frqm seven to ten cents. This step has been found BflccBBary, according to the company, in order to pay expenses and to purchase new cars to replace those destroyed in a ili.sastrous tire at the car barn at Pen Argyl during the heavy blizzard last winter,
.M first it was proposed to keep the zone fare at seven cents and divide the line into seven fare zones instead nf five, as »t presciil.
