Harry Christ and family, of Union Deposit, moved into the house vacated by Amos Fordney. ' [ WANTED.—Two ; young men, em-ployes of the Chocolate Factory, for extra runs on the H.j& C. Street Rail-way. Must be 21 years of age. In-? quire at car barn. - . Don't forget about; the monthly meet-ing of the Hershey "Volunteer Fire Com-pany, next Tuesday evening. There will be something doing. The fire bell has arrived, and it isj a fine one. A full attendance is desired as they want to talk about the bell and also about the Firemens' parade that will be held at Palmyra on Labor Day. Mr. T. Beddow, of Pittsburg, was a sguest of Dr. and Mrs. M. L. Hershey on Saturday and Sunday. Rev. Wm. Beach and wife, of Union Deposit, spent Memorial Day at this place, the guests of [Rev. 0. G. Romig and family. I Mrl Pagej proprietor of the Haeffher House,, is laying a cement walk in front of the hotel and is also making extensive alterations in the drinking room. (Continued on page 16) <3 . . • - - t f '¦; Hershey Briefs Oh! Say, You Firemen, Remember Tuesday Evening's Meeting The Y. M. C. A. Members! ip Contest which began the middle of March ended on Decoration Day> May 30. Forty new members wtre: brought into the Association during this time, making the present mem-bership 145^ The contest was a great success; even though it was not a great contest. It gives us a good conception of what can be. done when we all get together,and work. $10 in gold was awarded to Mr. Albert Snavely for bringing in : fourteen new members, the largest number. J. R. Black came second with eight new members to his credit ; Ezra F. Hershey seven, and'Jas. K. Putt with six. Mr. Putt says that hj has five more, but that hcdid not have, time to get them. Mr. Black,1 Mr. Hershey and Mr. Putt received a prize of $5 each. The presentation speech was made by the vice-president, Hon. G. H. Moyerrf. who, in a happy and n eisant way did honor to the occasion. The Y. M. G. A. Membershi p Contest a Great Success On Wednesday evening, June 8th, at the Hose House of the Hershey Volunteer Fire Company, a Strawberry Festival will be held by the Ladies' Guild of the Derry Presbyterian church. The object of the festival is to place pews in the church. Come and buy their strawberries and ice cream, and don't forget that there will be aprons and fancy articles for sale. ; ^ The Ladies' Guild of the Presbyterian Church Will Hold A Strawber ry Festi val on Wednesday Evening
