Dancing at Hershey Park Will ¦ Begin On Wednesd ay Evening, Feb. 7 ' ¦ and Continue Indefinitel y 0 ' JEGINNING on Wednesday even-ing, February 7, the Hershey i band and orchestra will hold a series of dances in Hershey dancin g pavillion. The dances will be held every Wednesday and Saturday evening, at 8 o'clock, and wiU continue indefinitely. Admission: Gentlemen , 20 cents;. ladies , 10 cents. Bandmaster Feese, in the . near fu-ture , expects to add an oboe and bas-soon to the alread y well equipped instru-mentation of the Hershey band. . A; last Sunday afternoon . :¦ . ' when Mr. 0. P. Beckley, of Harrisburg, was present and spoke on the Men and Religion Forward Move-ment. Mr. Beckley spoke with great earnestness and enthusiasm making an appeal for men to tak e hold of the ^ork of the church and condu ct it in the way the work required. There were fifty men . in attenda nce. Not one hesi-tated to express himself as well pleased with the message that Mr. Beckley brought. Y, W. C. A. Meeting Tonight A meetin g of all member s of the Y. W; C: A. will be held tonight at 7.30 o'clock in the Park Gymn asium. A full attendance is earn estly desir ed. Each member is request ed to bring with her one new member. All strangers will be cordially welcomed. The social and the music committees are planing ah inter-esting progra m, and a good time is as-sured. Be sur e and come. We need your help. Better Class of Shows to Be Seen at Her shey Park Theater Next Season IONTRACT for the shows to be given in Hershey Park Theater next season has been drawn up with the American Vaudeville Company. There will be a marked im-pro vement in the class and variety of shows given next . season over those of the past. Instead of each company hav-ing a week stand , there will be a new show each Monday and Thurs day. Another change ^ which is in the new contract provides for a variety in the shows presented. The list will include vaudeville, musical comedies, minstrels and dramas. An admission of 5 and 10 cents will be charged to all the perfor-mances. Contract For Show Talent Arranged Mrs. Jacob Nissley and Daughter Had Nar row Escape Thursday Morning H " FAST Thursda y mornin g, Mrs. _____ J acob Nissley and her daughter Catherine narrowly escaped death from the effects of coal gas at their home in Hershey. The two were discovered by the father about seven o'clock in the morni ng. Both were then in an unconscious condition from the eff ects of the gas which had escaped into the room where the mother who is an invalid , and the daug hter slept. Dr. M. L. Nissley, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jac ob Nissley, and Dr. M; L. Hershey were called at once. The two physicians worked several hours befor e the mother was restored to consciousn ess. Both Mrs. Nissley and her dau ghter have recovered from the effects of the gas. Overcome By Gas Interes t in the Big membership campai gn in the Hershey Young Men s Christi an Association has been on the rapid rise all week. The members of both of the teams are working hard and are getting results. It is impossible to say just how many new men either of the . teams have secured to date , for only a few of the ap-plications have been sent in to the headquarters. Most of them are being held up until the latter part of the campaign. BOOMER MEETING TONIGHT Tonight there is going to be a general rally at the Y. M. C. A. building. At that time the present standing of the two teams will be posted by means of two big thermometers that have been prepared for the contest These membership guagfes will be at the building during the remaider of the contest and will indicate from time to time the standing of the teams. ^ To' make the gathering ton ight of special interest to the men of the communit y, there is going to be a lively game of volley ball in the gymnasium and exhibitions in wrestling and tumb ling. Entertainment in the reading room has also been pro-vided for the time before and after the gymnasium work. AH men in the commu-nity ar e urg ed to be present. The work in the gymnasium will begin at 6 o'clock BOYS GETTING ACTIVE The new members that have been making application are not confined to the seniors. Since the campai gn began a number of boys have made app lication and the boys that are now members are getting after others. It is expected , that the campaign will result in a great increase in the junior membership as well as the senior CAMPAIGN CLOSES FEBRUARY 3 There is yet another full week before the campaign closes. The date set when the applications will be counted and the winning side declared victors is Sat-urday, February 3. On that date there will be a. general reception at the Y. M. C. A. building to which the general.public is invited. The ann ual meeting of the Association will be a part of the evening program on that date.
