The Greeks regarded a woman who had brains with suspicion. So do we. The Hershey Volunteer Fire Company are going to purchase a fire bell, and they need the money. The members of tlje cast of "An Evening With t_ie Knockers" have volunteered their services and will repeat the show that made such a favorable impression on the evening of April 19th. The show will be tke.-same as~given on that evening, with sorfte slight changes: A few more parodies will be sung, and if anything the show may be better thai* previously given. The prices have been reduced to 10 cts.; re-served seats, 20 cts. The Hershey Park Auditorium ought to be crowded on that evening, which will be on Thursday, May 5th. "An Evening With the Knockers to be Repeated Will Be Held For the Benefit of the Hershey Volunteer Fire Company on Thursday Evening, May 5th The regular monthly meeting of the Fire Company will be held on Tue|day evening, May 3d. Important business will be transacted, and your presence is requested. Firemen-Take Notice Middletown (the; Old Rivals) Plays Hershe y oil Saturda y Afternoon on the Hershe y Park Athletic Field Baseball season is here, and we are glad of it, for the swatting of the leath-er sphere is music to our ears. JKershey opens with Middletown. -We don't wish Middletown any. hard luck, but we would like to see Hershey capture their scalp. It ought to t e a great game. Hershey will put a strong team in the field, and as Middletown is supposed to have a winner, some tall baseball play-ing can be looked for. Hinkle will be sent to the slab, and if he has his cork-screw ball working the Way he wants it to, he will have Middletown at his mercy. The Hershey Band will be on deck, and will let you know what they have been doing during the ; winter months. The game will ' be called at 2:30 o'clock. Admission: Ladies, f ree; men, 15 "cts. ; admission to grandstand, 10 cts. extra. Opening Game ol Baseball Laying of Cement Walks on Chocolate Avenue1 The Hershey Improvement Company put a large gang of men at work on Friday morning excavating in order to lay cement a walk on Chocolate avenue. The walk will lead from the Hershey Trust Company building to the walk laid last fall, in front of the Chocolate factory. A walk will also be laid from Chocolate avenue to the walk in front of the offices of the Chocolate factory. Big Improvement We change men by changing: their environment. Mr. M. §,' Hershey thought so much of the "An [Evening With the Knockers!' that he gave ?i0 a piece for seats oc-cupied by himself and Mr. Eepkicher. Mr. Jas. K: Putt had a full house on Sunday, having as visitors Mr. and Mrs. George Meyers, of Philadelphia; /Mrs. Harry Hellen and children, of Lebanon, and Mr. John -Putt, of Lebanon. I • • • ¦ • : . Mrs. Rodenheiser and children were in Harrisburg on Monday? Mr. John H. Bowman was a visitor in Philadelphia on Sunday. Miss Edna Garret made a flying visit to Harrisburg on Saturday - afternoon and then .» Campbell town. Louis Brinker was in Lancaster on Sunday. Louis brought a. drum along with him, as the drnm used in the. "An Evening With the Knockers" did not suit him. This one is O. K. The weather was fierce Saturday even-ing, and the dance was not held. It would have been held had the orchestra put in its appearance, as abont lOO of the young people who attended, the Track M.et in the afternoon remained. They waited until the. "Queen of the Valley" arrived, and then made a bee line for tie station. In the meanwhile, they had the time of their lives in the pavillion—especially when the - lights were turned out.
