Staples, Presi-dent of Hershey Trust Com-pany, announced today the re-election at the stockholders meeting on January 5 of the following Directors: T. R. Banks, J. E. Bobb, William H. Earnest, J. J. Gallagher, P. N. Hershey, Samuel F. Hinkle, J. B. Sollen-berger, P. A. Staples, A. R. Whiteman, D. Paul WitMer and Charles F. Ziegler. The first meeting of the Board in 1956 was held on January 12 with the group re-electing as officers P.' A. Staples, President; D. Paul Witmer, Vice Presi-dent; A. R. Whiteman, Sec-retary- Treasurer; and Jos-eph S. Gumpher, Assistant Secretary-Treasurer. The Directors of Hershey Trust Company serve also as the Board of Managers of the Milton Hershey School for orphan boys, which now has an enrollment of more than 1,000 students, and as the Board of Managers of the.M. S. Hershey Foundation which is concerned with education in all its phases in Derry Township, including the sup-port of Hershey Junior Col-lege. Hershey To Have Civil Air • -LOOKING OVER THE FIELD as planning for Hershey's Civil Air Patrol squad-ron reached an active stage are Harry Williamson (left) operator of the Hershey Air Park, and Charles Hershberger who was appointed to serve as temporary CAP squad-ron commander during the organizational period. The Air Park will be the local unit's operational base. Williamson and Hershberger, both Air Force veterans, are typical of -the senior Civil Air Patrol members who will provide the leadership for the Hershey' squadron. Patrol Unit Squadron Activated At Meeting Held Here This Week Aviation - minded Hershey has started building its own civilian air unit. A Hershey squadron of the Civil Air Patrol was activa-ted last evening (Wednesday) at a meeting in the Com-munity Building. Ten Senior CAP members — all of them proficient pilots and techni-cians — formed the nucleus of the local unit. Serving as temporary 'squadron commander .during the organizational period is Charles Hershberger. Other "charter members" of the squadron are Harry Williamson, Vincent Galozzi and H. R. "Dick" Knoll, all of Hershey; Lynwood Smith, Annville ; Victor Cottingham, Hummelstown; and Clifford Osborn, Gilbert M. Baker, Harry Frysinger and James A. Eckenrode, all of Harris-burg. Hershberger's home is at Middletown. Base of operations for the sqUadron will be the Hershey Air Park, operated by Wil-liamson, although a regular headquarters remains to be established at this time. AMONG THE NUMEROUS fine school music organizations of Hershey is the Hershey Junior College Chorus, represented in the poto above by its varsity and freshman quartets. With Carol Moyer, accompanist, at the piano keyboard are these double:. quartet members (1. to r.) : Roger Forry, E zabeth • Baugher, John Shenk, Dolores Peck, Donald Ebersole, Judith Nagle, Fay Eshelman and Carlton Hoffer. Ten Junior College Chorus representatives are preparing to take part in the seventh annual festival of the Pennsylvania Collegiate Choral Association at Drexel Institute of Technology on February 25-26-27. Traditionally, the HJC Chorus sings for the com-munity's annual Veterans' Day observance, as well as participating in Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter con-certs and an all-musical Con-vocation each April. One of the major music festivals of the year is shared by the Jun-ior College Chorus and the Senior High School. This year it will be the Spring Music Festival on Monday, May 7, in the Hershey Community Theatre. In addition to traditional and requested performances by the entire college chorus, the organization is often rep-resented by ensembles and (Continued ea rage Threes VFW Mothers Ready To March On Polio Another attack on polio will be made next Tuesday evening by a group of Her-shey mothers. 'Hershey Memorial Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars— again sponsoring the polio drive here — announced that the "Mothers' March" will be held Tuesday, starting at seven p. m. It will be con-ducted by the ladies' auxil-iary to the VFW post, aided by other ladies of the com-munity. Mrs. H. B. Smith, Sr., chairman of the "Mothers' March," said that lighted porch lamps would be the beacons for the mothers. Larry Wallace of the VFW post is general chairman of the polio drive. The VFW previously sold Blue Crutch-es and placed collection boxes as part of the current cam-paign. Derry Church To Burn Mortgage At Ceremony The Rev. William Sheldon Blair, pastor of Derry Presby-terian Church, this week an-nounced that members and friends of the church are in-vited to participate in a recog-nition dinner and mortgage burning ceremony at six-thir-ty p. m. on Thursday, Feb-ruary 2.
