Heavy equipment of Hempt Brothers, of Camp Hill, grade the former south parking lot of Hershey Choco-late Corporation. Rerouted Homestead Road will intersect on Choco-late Avenue with entrance to new east parking lot. A traffic light will also be installed. PROCESSIONAL from St. Joan of Arc Rectory to School's audi-torium in connection with Memorial service—prayers for the dead and servicemen—and blessing of the site for proposed $500,000 church edifice at West Areba Avenue and Glen Road. Guard of Honor formed by Brownies of Troops 654 and 730; Girl Scouts of Troops 593, 594, and 596; and Boy Scouts of Troop 108. • AMERICAN LEGION 8th Grade Awards to M. S. Hershey Jun-ior High School students. Post 386 Past Commander Edwin C. Miller presented the Certificate of School Award to Eugene Brubaker Ha-beck- er, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Habecker, R.D. 2, Mrs. Robert E. Heagy (right) presented the Ladies' Auxiliary Americanism Award to Bonnie Lynne Dearden, daughter. of Mr. and Mrs. Wil-liam E. Dearden, 32 W. Chocolate Ave. Assistant Principal Rufus oby (center) presided at the Junior High School aSsembly. A Rose Festival At Hotel Hershey The Hotel Hershey Rose Festival will be held June 10 through 15, including person-ally conducted tours of the Hershey Rose Garden, and lec-tures by outstanding person-alities in the rose field. Co-ordinator is Robert P. Cour-noyer, Managing Director of Hotel Hershey. The Festival will open on June 10 at 8:30 p. m. H. L. Erdman, Designer of Hershey Gardens, will present an illustrated lecture on the History of Hershey Rose Gar-den. On Saturday, June 11, at 2:30 p. m., Mr. Erdman will nersonally conduct a tour of the Rose Gar-den. Carl Salliday, Design School In-structor, Charles H. Scheaffers Flower Shop, York, Pa., will con-duct rose arrangement demonstra-tions at 2:30 and 8:30 p. m., on Sunday, June 12. On June 13 at 2:30 and 8:30 p.m. a film, "Modern Roses On Parade", showing the creation of new roses will be shown by Eu-gene S. Boerner, Chief, Research Department, Jackson & Perkins Company, Newark, N. Y., largest growers of roses in the United States. A lecture, "Care of Roses", is scheduled for June 14 at 8:30 p. m. by Dr. R. C. Allen, Director, Kingwood Horticulture Center, Mansfield, Ohio. "Miracles in a Seed Packet" is the lecture to.be presented at .8:00 p.m. on June 15th by W. Mellton Schell, Vice President, Schell Seeds, Inc., Harrisburg. HERSHEY PLAYGROUND Effective June 13, Hershey ,Playground will be open 1:00 - 3:00, and 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. Effective June 27, the hours are 10;00 a.m. to 12:00 noon; 1:00 - 3:00, and 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. Operated under the super-vision of Hershey Vocational School, the Playground is again directed by John Hanshue. The Chocolate Corporation Sells Lebanon Creamery To Lebanon Valley Dairies Hershey Chocolate Corporation has sold its Lebanon • Creamery Division to Lebanon Valley Dairies, a division of Harrisburg Dairies, it was announced last week. In the announcement of the sale, which was effective last Monday, it was emphasized that Lebanon Valley Dairies will continue to use the local, farm-fresh milk produced in Lebanon Valley. The same milk-men which formerly delivered Her-shey's milk will continue to serve their customers with high-quality milk products. The new owners of the Lebanon operation are well known in the Central Pennsylvania area for their courteous, efficient service and their modern, sanitary processing of milk. Hershey has served the people in the Lebanon area with milk pro-ducts for almost a half century. Al-though bottling operations at the Lebanon plant have been suspend-ed, all affected employes will be offered the opportunity of trans-ferring to the chocolate plant in Hershey without loss of seniority. It was pointed out that this change in ownership in no way af-fects the Hershey Estates Dairy, located in the Park at Hershey, Pa, mg lawns and shrubbery, annoying pedestrians, and chasing game. Under the dog law, any police officer may seize dogs running at large. MEMORIAL DAY address at the Derry Township Court of Honor by Dr. L. Eugene Jacques, Superintendent of the Derry Township School District. Gold Star and War Mothers occupied seats of honor. Some 150 people attended the Court of Honor Ob-servance. Thousands lined Chocolate Avenue, under threatening skies, for the 9:30 a.m. parade which preceded the observance.
