HERSHEY, PENNSYLVANIA, FEBRUARY 20, 1958 HIGHEST SPIRITUAL AWARD for Boy Scouts of the Catholic faith, the* Ad Altare Dei Cross, was awarded recently to six Scouts by the Rev. Anthony J. Mayan, pastor of St. Joan of Arc Church. Five of the recipients are shown-above—from left: James Nelson, Dennis Little, Carl Piergallini, William Yakstis and Michael Barry: The sixth, absent when the photo was taken, is Timothy Stohler. The presenta-tions took place during charter and investiture ceremonies at St. Joan of Arc Church on Feb. 9 in connection with National Boy Scout Week. National Guard To Be Host At Open House On Saturday The Pennsylvania National Guard's Hershey units have . announced an open house at their armory a t Caracas Avenue and Ridge Road on • Saturday, February 22. The armory will be open to the general public from two un-til five p.m., when the armory facilities, equipment a n d training features' will be shown. The program is being held to mark "Muster Day,': in -commemoration of 'General George Washington will° fig-ured prominently in t h e founding of a state militia. The open house event will also note, the establishment in Hershey of the Headquar-ters, Battery A, and the Medi-cal Detachment of the 899th Anti - Aircraft Artillery, 28th Infantry DiVision, Penn-sylvania National Guard. New Enlistees • The National Guard also announced that four Hershey area men have enlisted since the units came to Hershey. In 'addition, two Hershey Guardsmen were transferred from 28th _Division Head-quarters at Harrisburg to Battery A at the local armory in order to be near home. Local area enlistees are Earl Robert Lollo, Jr., 240 East Granada Avenue, Her-shey; Donald C. Smith, 312 West Maple Street, Palmyra; Samuel V. Shull, 261 West High Street, Hummelstown ; and-Harold H. Shull, 636 West High Street, Humnielstown. Harold Shull enlisted with the rating of corporal, attain-ed in previous military serv-ice. . Transferring from -the 28th Division Headquarters to the Hershey unit were James and John W: Price, Jr., 135 East Caracas Avenue, Hershey. Rotary — 53 Years Old The Hershey Rotary Club on Sunday, Feb. 23, will join with its fellow clubs around the worla (in 102 countries) in noting Rotary's 53rd anniversary.
