Local Lebanon Valley Band Christmas Club Checks In Drill Master In Who's Who Mail From National Bank H. Wm. Nixon Among seven central Pennsyl-vania students at Lebanon Valley College recently elected to mem-bership in "Who's Who in American Universities and Colleges," was H. William Nixon. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Nixon, 260 E. Granada Ave., Bill has been listed in the annual direc-tory of distinguished students • Christmas Club checks totalling $226,529.50 were distributed to 2,128 individuals by the Hershey National Bank last week. This represented records both in participation and total amount of distribution. A year ago some $213,760 was distributed to Christ-mas Club participants. Hershey School's Gymnasium Will Be Dedicated Dec. 2nd Constructed by Hershey Lumber Products for the M. S. Hershey Foundation, the Derry Township School's new gymnasium will be dedicated on December 2nd. This building was planned and given to the people of Derry Town-ship by the Board of Managers Of the M.. S. Hershey Foundation for use by the girls and boys and• the school district of Derry Township for their sports events and recreational activities. The building was designed to ac-commodate large gatherings of the youth in our community. A program of dedication will fea-ture the opening game of the season for both the Hershey High School and Milton Hershey School basket-ball squads. The brief program will follow the JV gnme; with George D. Lange, Principal, M. S. Hershey Jr.-Sr. High School, presiding. Following the audience par-ticipation presentation of The Star Spangled Banner, an invocation will be offered by The Rev. J. Herbert Miller. Remarks will then be presented by L. Eugene Jacques, Superinten-dent, Derry Township Schools. Formal presentation of the new Message from gymnasium will be conducted by Cashier John S. John B. Hershey Estates Dairy Has A New Milk Bottle And Cap Hershey Estates Dairy has intro-duced a new milk bottle for the con-venience of their customers. The bottle has a protective collar which shields the bottle top and im-proves ease of handling. A new aluminum cap has been de-signed for the bottle, with these special features; An air-tight seal; not just a cover cap. It completely protects the pouring lip. Thanksgiving Observance In Hershey Hershey's annual community Thanksgiving Service, coordinated by the Hershey Ministerial Asso-ciation, will be held at the Spring Creek Church of the Brethren on Thanksgiving Day at 9:00 a.m. Thanksgiving Day Masses at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church will be held at 7:00 a.m., 7:30 a.m. and a high mass at 8:00 a.m. A Thanksgiving breakfast for the young people of the Hershey churches will be held at First Church, E.U.B. at 7:45 a.m. Following the breakfast, the young people will attend the Thanksgiving Service at Spring Creek in a body. Host pastor, the Rev. J. Herbert Miller will have The Preparation for Worship, The Call to Worship and The Invocation. The Responsive Reading will be directed by the Rev. J. R. Mac- Donald. The Reading from the Old Testa. ment will be presented by the Rev. Kermit L. Lloyd. A Litany of Thanksgiving will be led by the Rev. Robert M. Lezenby. The Reading from the New Testa. ment will be handled by The Rev. Ira 0. Reed, Vice President and Treasurer of the Hershey Minis-terial Association. The Prayer of Dedication Will be led by The Rev. Glenn J. Rader, President of the Association. A Thanksgiving message will be presented by The Rev. Thomas W. Guinivan. Seminarian Stanley Phillips, of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, will offer the Benediction. OPEN HOUSE at Derry Township Elementary School. All-time record attendance on a beautiful November night. Shuttle buses from School Plaza alleviated parking situation. Hundreds have attended fifth grade classes under Miss Miriam I. Snyder, (left) including Jean (Walmer) Fasnacht and daughter Gail.
