Title | Letter from Bobby Johnston to Warren [Letter 280] |
Subject | Correspondence; World War, 1939-1945.; World War, 1939-1945--Women. |
Description | 219 April 6 - 8:45 P.M. Friday My Dearest Darling: Helen brought me two letters from you this morning April 1st and 2nd. The latter took only four days to get here. Its such fun to have your letter to read with my breakfast coffee. Enclosed are the first duplicates - there are more of the 2nd and 3rd still to be done. I'll let you know what the sum total is, and you can send back as much of it as you have - but I’d just as soon get F. paid off. Miss Miles gave me the March 7th Christian Science Monitor. I enjoyed reading the article, and have put it in our scrapbook. I told her that I’d bring the copy of the letter you’re writing to Dr. Cottrell after I've received [pg 2] it all. I think it is a good letter, sweety, and one he will be interested in. Who did the drawings - or are they traced from a text book? I’d love to see a copy of the curriculum when you can get around to sending it. Did the Colonel raise hell, or did he just issue a new order? Kim Soon is darling - she must be the youngster you mentioned in a previous letter. Its wonderful to have these pictures and I look at them over and over again. Wendy and I didn't do anything exciting today, tho I am having conscience trouble. Sweety, I haven't been very nice to Dana this week, and this afternoon when I saw her walking forlornly down the street with Mike in tow I felt sorry. As far as I'm concerned, it just got to the point where I didn't want her hanging over me and around all the [pg 3] time. It got so I couldn't even walk downtown without having Dana waiting to join me. I know even better now what bothered Jean May - it is almost intolerable at times - One of the hardest things to forgive is Dana's habit of contradicting everyone anyone says to her. It's not only me, but others in town who don't get along with her. I guess it really is petty of me to let it get under my skin - and I will try to do better from now on. Oh darling - its still a very mixed up world. I miss you so terribly much all the time. Love you sweety - please come home soon- Bobby |
