| Description | #42 Wednesday noon Nov. 8th Dearly Beloved Today the photograph (mailed 1st class to CinCPac on Oct 16th) arrived, and I am delighted with it - have shown it to Charlie, my tentmate Mac (MacQuarrie - we met them at the first affair we went to at Columbia - they’re from Jackson Heights). My office superior Johnny Reifsnider (B and J, went to Boulder for a month or so in January ’43 before being transferred - thought he remembered you from your snapshots) and others, and now have it on my desk in the right hand side of the large folder. (On the left are four snapshots - you in riding clothes at Taos, you and I in Boulder, two of you and Wendy). With it came letter #38 postmarked Oct. 25th (addressed to CinCPac Mil-Govt). Yesterday I received #37 (same address) postmarked Oct 24th and #40 (“Navy #3247” - insufficient address) postmarked the 27th: (That's all thru #40 except for #39 - They’re coming thru regularly now) I'll answer all of them this evening. [Was amused by the enclosed letter. If I ever get ahold of a large enough envelope I'll return my commission shingle and other such letters to stick in the scrapbook, if you want them there. (Especially the letter regretting that I was not accepted for Military Govt School - which several people have enjoyed reading as a choice example of Navy procedure). Otherwise they can stay with my orders. Back to work - till later, Sweetie. I love you Warren Give Wendy a big hug and a kiss for being so good for the photographs. |
