Title | Letter from Bobby Johnston to Warren [Letter 19] |
Subject | Correspondence; World War, 1939-1945.; World War, 1939-1945--Women. |
Description | Tuesday Evening 9:10 P.M. Dearest darling:- It's such a help to be able to speak with you over the phone - Days go by relatively fast, but evenings are so long - just don't feel all here when you aren't with me - Guess I told you bout all the news. Received your Sunday night post card this morning - Slept til 9:30 and when I got up found a small flood all over the kit-chen[pg 2]- a defrosting catastrophe - good exercise mopping up- Betty stopped by last night, while John was home correcting exam papers - They are all going to Cold Spring Harbor, h.[?] on Friday for a week. Gave Betty “After Many a Summer Dies the Swan” and “My Name is Aram” to take along. Guess KeKo will have to stay home, if everything comes off on schedule. You might ask Miss Couture to water the plants too- Enjoyed my walk this afternoon - mailed your package, and stopped at the library to read a few back copies of [pg 3] “Life” and take out two books- Am so glad I got the jam made - It looks so good sitting on the top cupboard shelf all labeled and tied up in cellophane. Tomorrow I am going to try and sleep late, and then give the apartment a thorough cleaning - If I am not too tired and it's not too warm will take another long walk- Am rambling, sweety, ‘cause the sand man has tossed lots of sand in my eyes - Til tomorrow my darling, and one day closer til Saturday - I love you very much Bobby |
