Good evening. It's so nice to see you all here this evening. My name is Carile Gone Higgins Brown and I have some thoughts to share with you from my "memory book". I was born in 1831 in Pike, New York, near Wellsvllle. In relation to what I will be telling you later, you should be interested to know that my Revolutionary War Ancestor was Elijah Winchel. He was of the New York State Militia and served as aide to General Schuyler. He was mortally wounded bearing orders to Albany Headquarters.
